The oh-so-wise things that I’ve learned so far in Shanghai:
- Like Brasil, put your toilet paper in the small garbage bin next to the toilet
- Don’t drink tap water in Shanghai
- Cross the street with a consistent/predictable speed – this will lessen the chance of you being run over by cars
- A ‘kwak’ is a type of beer glass (looks like a half yard glass), and is bulbous on the bottom so that people could drink while riding horses without the beer spilling out
- To drift, a good technique to use is to speed into the turn, then take your foot off the gas and quickly turn your wheels in the opposite direction of the curve…. Then go through the turn and resume ‘normal’ driving :)
Toilet paper in the garbage bin. Does that mean the bathroom is pretty smelly?! Especially if the toilet paper is.. you know..a bit "dirty"?
ReplyDeleteHaha, well... hmm. INTERESTING QUESTION!
ReplyDeleteUsually, I found that in homes, both China and Brazil had small bins with lids on them next to the toilets, so not only are the smells usually contained, but you change them often.
In malls/restaurants, though, it seemed like although they use larger bins that are usually open topped, the custodians take care to change them several times a day, so that was taken care of :)
And.. to tell the truth, if the TP is a BIT dirty, I'd either wrap it up in my TP and dispose of it, or else just toss it in the toilet and pray that it didn't clog up the toilet, hehe!
